Kunga GyeltsonKunga has been an avid practitioner of yoga and meditation for over seven years, since 2000. He began teaching yoga and meditation in 2005. Kunga received his yoga teaching certification from The Yoga Centre Winnipeg, and his certification in applied meditation from the Asian Classics Institute. His major yoga influences are from his root yoga teacher Hart Lazer, as well as the many talented teachers he has worked with, and studied under, at QSY. Kunga lived as a Buddhist Rabjung Monk for more than two years, and studied with the late Buddhist Lama, Khen Rimpoche. His meditation has also has been influenced by the Vipassana style of meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka. Kunga has spent over three months in meditation retreats in India and North America. Kunga is also a black belt in Shaolin Hung Bar Kung Fu, teaching others in this style from 2004-2007. Kunga enjoys teaching people how to bring these practices into their modern-day, often hectic, lives and schedules. His primary goal in teaching yoga and meditation is to provide students with the tools they need to bring more joy, health and happiness into their lives and the lives of those around them. The longer I practice, the better I feel, and I can't help but want to share these wonderful practices with everyone. Community InvolvementKunga has been working with people with disabilities for 6 years. Also, he previously spend time teaching self defense in high schools.
